Reality and Mirage. Max Vityk

On November 10th at 5:00 PM, the opening of the exhibition “Reality and Mirage” by Max Vityk will take place at the Museum of Ukrainian Diaspora. The exhibition is based on a retrospective journey through the artist’s workshops, spanning from Texas, Arizona, Cairo, The Hague, to Kyiv and Zasupoyivka. The exhibition showcases works, photographs, and personal artifacts from distinct periods of Max Vityk’s life and creativity, exploring the realms of reality and mirage.

Max Vitik is a Ukrainian-American artist and painter who employs unique techniques in his work. Vitik’s abstract and figurative art is dynamic and vibrant, infused with the “pomp of naive visions” and a particular focus on the interplay of color and texture. The artist’s works have been exhibited at various places worldwide, including the Ukrainian Institute of America in New York, ArtMarts gallery in Cairo, the International Museum of Art and Science in McAllen (USA), at art fairs such as Scope Art in Basel, Context Art in New York and Miami, as well as in numerous galleries and museums in Ukraine.

The exhibition “Reality and Mirage. Max Vitik” will be open for visitation at the Museum of Ukrainian Diaspora from November 10th to January 14th, 2024.
