The Central State Archive of Public Organizations and Ucrainica (TsDAHOU) is the only state archival institution that keeps documents of social and political history, namely political parties, movements, and public associations at the national level, as well as documents that were taken abroad or created abroad in different historical periods, but reflect the events of Ukrainian history and are the historical and cultural heritage of Ukrainians abroad.
The archives houses documents of the State Center of the Ukrainian People’s Republic in exile, the Museum of Ukraine’s Struggle for Independence in Prague, the World Congress of Free Ukrainians, figures of the Ukrainian military and political emigration of the interwar period in Romania, the Central Union of Ukrainian Students, the Ukrainian Democratic Youth Association, the Ukrainian National Unity in France, the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada and others.
The collections of documents of Mykola Plawiuk, Bohdan Hawrylyshyn, Pavlo Dorozhynsky, and Stefan Terletsky deserve special attention; creative materials of Natalia Zamulko-Dubushe, Hanna Cherin, Svitlana Kuzmenko, Kateryna Krychevska-Rosandich, Mirtala Pylypenko, Assya Humesky, Vasyl Tsybulsky (Tsybulko), and Pavlo Maskalyk; documents of Ilko Borshchak, Arkadiy Zhukovskyi, Mykhailo Herets, Vasyl Potienko, Yevhen Pobihushchyi-Ren, and many others.
The TsDAHOU has rare diaspora publications, personal belongings of religious leaders, military awards, original seals and stamps of Ukrainian emigration organizations, and photographs of famous fighters for Ukrainian independence.
A part of the collection is presented online on the E-resource, particularly in the project Diaspora.ua.
