Borshch of Art is a non-profit arts organization in the United States dedicated to researching, promoting, and raising awareness of American artists of Ukrainian descent.

Founded in 2024 by cultural manager and researcher Anastasia Gudko, the organization focuses on several key areas of activity: developing the online platform Discover Database, which gathers information about artists of Ukrainian heritage in the U.S.; organizing public programs (including walking tours, curatorial tours, lectures, and studio visits); implementing the Ukrainian-American Arts Research Fellowship, a scholarship program for emerging researchers; and publishing the online journal Creative Beetroots, which features cultural commentary, interviews, and reviews.

Borshch of Art actively collaborates with art institutions, museums, and galleries across the United States, organizing events that highlight the contributions of American artists of Ukrainian descent. Notably, in 2024 the organization hosted a walking tour in New York, “Ukrainian Roots of American Art,” dedicated to artists such as Lee Krasner, Janet Sobel, Philip Guston, and others.

The organization’s mission is to integrate Ukrainian artistic heritage into American and global cultural contexts and to strengthen cultural ties between Ukraine and the Ukrainian diaspora worldwide.
