Batkivska hata. Homestead

On November 5th the Church of St. Yura in Manhattan will host the presentation of the ethnological project “Batkivska hata. Homestead”.

The thematic photo exhibition is honoring the victims of the Holodomor by presenting photos of clothes, everyday life and the way of life of Ukrainians before the terrible events of 1932-1933. “Our goal is to show visitors the polarity of what our ancestors lost,” the organizers say.

The opening of the project will be accompanied by a musical program, in particular: performances by the “Moloda Dumka” choir, Lesia Verba, and the “Pysanka” vocal studio.

The exhibition is organized in cooperation with the oldest women’s public organization, the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (UNWLA), the 64th Branch of UNWLA, and the Greek Catholic Church of St. Yura in New York.
